Atlantic Bay Mortgage Group® is excited for recent graduate of Atlantic Bay University, Curtis Schaefer, to make the jump over to his new role as a mortgage banker. Having started with the company in 2013 as a closer, moving to closing team lead, then closing supervisor, and concluding his operations experience as closing manager for the Charlotte, North Carolina branch, he has over 6 years of experience in the mortgage industry.

Curtis says, “My favorite part is building relationships with homebuyers. I love numbers and budgeting, so if you are like me, buying a home is a stressful time trying to see all the financial pieces fall into place (current and future). The first time I bought a house, the mortgage banker who did my loan sat me down, explained everything, and educated me on how to buy in a financially responsible manner. It calmed my nerves and made me feel comfortable with the whole process. Now, my goal is to communicate and be transparent so that all of my clients feel confident in their decision and have no need to worry or stress.”

With licenses in North Carolina and South Carolina, Curtis can reach many homebuyers and help them achieve their homeownership dreams. Fitting right in with the Atlantic Bay family, he frequently volunteers with Roc Solid Foundation. He is an active member of Lake Norman Homebuilders Association. In his spare time, you may find him enjoying weekly dinners with his parents, siblings, nieces, and nephews, attending church, or helping his soccer and basketball league teams secure wins. His downtime is spent relaxing with his wife, Charlotte, daughter, Cecilia, anticipating their baby on the way, “player to be named later,” and running around with their dog, Harvey.
