You can please all the people some of the time, some of the people all the time, but you can’t please all the people all the time!
For 13 years, I worked as a real estate agent, but in May of 2020, I made the jump to the lending side of this industry. I’ve always enjoyed meeting people from all different walks of life (hearing about their jobs, families, etc.) and helping them get the best loan terms possible, so I believe being a Mortgage Banker here in Alabama provides me with the best of both worlds.
I serve any and all borrowers, but I must admit, seeing first-time buyers achieve the dream of homeownership is especially gratifying and grantsme a sense of accomplishment. I tremendously enjoy taking on the role of teacher or advice giver. I explain to every borrower that, “this is not my money, but here’s what I’d do if it WAS my money.” Additionally, my knowledge of the real estate side of the homebuying process allows me to better communicate with agents and get my borrowers on the fast track to closing.
Today, I’m still an active member of the National Association of REALTORS®, and I’ve also served on the board of Childcare Resources in Birmingham for the last several years. Our mission is to make quality childcare affordable and accessible. I’ve also worked with the Alabama ALS Society, as my mother passed away from ALS.
For a little more about me, I love spending time with my wife Sarah, our kids Gracie and James, and our dog Pixie. I’m an alumnus of Duke University, so I’m a big fan of Blue Devil basketball. And before getting into real estate, I served as a youth minister at several churches, and I still enjoy playing my guitar and bass at my current church.
