VIRGINIA BEACH, VA – Atlantic Bay Mortgage Group® is honored to announce the company was recently named Company of the Year by the Boys and Girls Club of Southeast Virginia. The recipient of the award was revealed at the Annual Youth of the Year Awards dinner, held on March 8. Three companies were nominated for consideration based on their support in the Hampton Roads community and of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Southeast Virginia. As a Diamond Corporate Partner, Atlantic Bay has committed to supporting the Boys and Girls Club and their mission through various fundraising efforts and volunteer hours.
“We always love to get involved with the Boys and Girls Club, and we were excited to have been nominated for Company of the Year,” said Brian Holland, Atlantic Bay CEO and Boys and Girls Club Board Member. “The Boys and Girls Club does so much good for our community, and we are happy to give back to this great organization.”
In preparation for the Company of the Year ceremony, Atlantic Bay hosted their inaugural Adult Spelling Bee on March 1st at Froggies on Shore Drive. The event hosted over 20 spellers, including President and CEO of the Boys and Girls Club, Kevin Will. The event helped raise over $3,000 and all net proceeds directly benefited the Boys and Girls Club.
Atlantic Bay’s philanthropic arm, AB Cares, has also organized other volunteer opportunities for employees to get involved, including group visits to the Rosemont Club in Virginia Beach and the Truitt Club in Chesapeake, where volunteers helped the kids with everything from homework to making Valentine’s for their family members.
“Giving back to the community is such an important part of Atlantic Bay’s culture,” said Tiffany Hawken, Atlantic Bay Cares Director. “Since we got involved with them a year ago, Atlantic Bay employees have volunteered over 77 hours in the clubs themselves, along with hundreds of volunteer hours to help plan events to support our friends at the Boys and Girls Club. We are excited to continue and grow our relationship with this great organization for the years to come.”
