A little more about me.

As a homeowner myself, helping people is rewarding, but the ability to do it as my profession is simply awesome.

I joined the mortgage industry in 2021 after a decade of my friend trying to convince me to apply for his company. On New Year’s Eve, part of my resolution was to finally make the switch so I could be closer to home (and make my friend happy).

I have approximately 10 years of experience in other related financial fields, so that has allowed me to make a smooth transition into my role as a full-time Mortgage Banker. In my first year, I was able to educate myself on the diverse overlays of more than 20 lender investors, in addition to standard guidelines. Today, I serve North Carolina, with a strong focus on the coastal region and Charlotte. I have plans to become licensed in South Carolina soon.

I specialize in helping veterans, first-time homebuyers, self-employed borrowers, and investors, and all for very specific reasons.

My father is a Vietnam veteran. The reward of helping other veterans reach homeownership, knowing what they sacrificed for this country, is incredible. For first-time buyers, I love the challenge of developing a plan alongside my client and guiding them through the process from contract to closing. Having gone through the process myself, as well as having the same person who helped me finance my home mentor me as a Mortgage Banker, I have an excellent model for how to communicate to all borrowers. Lastly, with self-employed borrowers and investment properties, I’ve learned documentation is not always your friend. Once again, I love the challenge. Each new loan is a new experience, and I’m thankful to learn from every situation.

So far, my favorite part of this job has been every time I’ve had the chance to tell my clients they’re, “clear to close.” Homebuying’s process is not easy, but it is rewarding. And I know just how much those words mean once they leave my mouth. What sets me apart from other Mortgage Bankers is my dedication to clear lines of communication, results, and passion. I try to treat each borrower I work with the same way I would want to be treated if I was in their shoes. That doesn’t mean I win every time, but I’m a firm believer in honesty and transparency.

On a personal and professional note, I’m a founding member of BBB (Brunswick Business Builders - BNI), a Board Member for North Brunswick Chamber of Commerce, and ambassador for PCYP (Port City Young Professionals), an affiliate member of BCAR (Brunswick County Association of Realtors) and a member of the Lower Cape Fear Mortgage Bankers Association. Since 2007, I have participated in fundraising for Make-A-Wish Foundation through Wilmington’s Mustaches for Kids, and I’ve made a concerted effort, alongside my wife, to be more involved with the non-profit The Carousel Center and have volunteered for WARM (Wilmington Area Rehousing Ministries).

Speaking of, I’m the proud husband of Jenna Earley, and the proud father of Michael William (born Christmas Eve 2021). I have four nieces and four nephews. I’m one of five children, four of which reside in Brunswick and New Hanover County. My sister and her family live in Rural Hall. My parents relocated to Brunswick County in 2002 when I was a senior in high school (South Brunswick’s Class of 2003), my parents still reside in Bolivia to this day.

In my free time, I enjoy hanging out with my family. We love kayaking, going to the beach, and watching our nieces and nephews play sports. My personal hobby is gardening, but more specifically, growing flowers. It brings me so much peace and calmness when I pull in our driveway and see my wife putting together beautiful bouquets made from our flower beds.
