In 2025, AB Cares continued to bring Atlantic Bay’s commitment to community to life, empowering employees to make a meaningful difference through service.
It couldn’t be truer: at Atlantic Bay, our business isn’t just about mortgages. It’s about people, and more specifically, compassion for people.
Since our founding in 1996, we’ve grown into a mortgage leader rooted in a core belief that giving back is part of who we are, not just what we do. That distinct philosophy comes to life most powerfully through AB Cares, our employee‑driven charitable arm centered on community impact, volunteerism, and heartfelt service.
In 2025, AB Cares continued to be the pulse of our culture—extending our reach and driving meaningful engagement across the communities where our team members live, work, and lend. We’re reminded time and again, through major events, ongoing partnerships, and everyday acts of service, that our people genuinely care. And that caring drives change.
AB Cares is a reflection of the collective heart of our Atlantic Bay team, lived out year‑round in service to others.
We are proud that, for the second consecutive year, Atlantic Bay was recognized as a Hampton Roads’ Civic 50 company in 2025, an honor presented by Points of Light. This award celebrates the 50 most community-minded companies in the locale. This year’s class of organizations invest in their communities, empower employee engagement, and create measurable impact.
This recognition reaffirms what we’ve come to already know: our commitment to meaningful service goes far beyond financial contributions, like our donations to the Roc Solid Foundation for every loan closed. It is woven into our culture and evident in how we show up in the world every day.
Being named a Civic 50 honoree reflects years of sustained community involvement and employee volunteerism that touches every part of our company.

Each May, team members pause their bustling schedules to participate in the Week of Service, an annual tradition that embodies the heart of Atlantic Bay. Sponsored and coordinated by AB Cares, this multi‑day initiative urges employees to use their paid and allocated volunteer hours to support local charities and nonprofits in ways that connect with their passions and reflect real community needs.
In 2025, more than 150 team members, working across regions and projects, contributed to 50+ service efforts.

What Week of Service Looked Like in 2025:
Volunteers helped with organizing and maintaining community spaces such as Ronald McDonald Houses, supporting families when they need it most.
Teams teamed up with local food banks to prepare and distribute food to families, reinforcing vital efforts to fight hunger.
Groups delivered Meals on Wheels, bringing prepared meals and connection to homebound seniors.
Across every inspiring project, one common theme was clear: Team members aren’t just helping. They’re showing up.

One of Atlantic Bay’s longest‑standing and most impactful partnerships is with the Roc Solid Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to supporting children and families battling pediatric cancer.

Since 2018, Atlantic Bay has supported Roc Solid through playset builds and packing Ready Bag kits filled with essentials and comforts for families during hospital stays. Over the years, this partnership has delivered dozens of outdoor playsets and hundreds of Ready Bags—and in 2025, our teams built five playsets and packed more than 200 Ready Bags.

For the 24th consecutive year, Atlantic Bay hosted its Angel Tree and Senior Wish List program at company headquarters. This holiday tradition invites employees to pick tags representing local seniors, shop for gifts, and bring them back for wrapping and delivery, ensuring that seniors feel remembered, valued, and celebrated during the holidays and beyond.

To encourage participation from all team members, even those working remotely, AB Cares also offered a virtual option, allowing employees and community supporters to contribute from anywhere.

And now, as we wrap 2025, our eyes are already on the future, and can you blame us?
We’re excited about the possibilities ahead: more service projects, collaborations, and continued momentum toward the empathetic future we all want to see. And it all starts with people: our team members, volunteers, partners, and neighbors. Let’s continue to tirelessly work toward a shared mission of service and impact.
To every Atlantic Bay team member who volunteered their time, donated resources, or championed causes in 2025: thank you. You have brought our core value We Genuinely Care to life, and made a tangible difference in the lives of families, children, seniors, and neighbors across our communities.
So, here’s to another year of purpose, growth, and meaningful impact in 2026…and beyond!
