Amanda Morrow Is a 2023 HousingWire Rising Star

Amanda was recently named one of HousingWire’s 2023 Rising Stars.

HousingWire is the most influential source of news and information for the U.S. mortgage and housing markets. Their prestigious award honors the housing economy’s next generation of the brightest mortgage and real estate minds. According to their official website, the program “recognizes industry professionals who have become leaders in their respective fields. Those who are helping move markets forward, each and every day.”

So, what does Amanda have to say about such an esteemed honor?

“Being named a 2023 HousingWire Rising Star is a truly humbling experience. When I first heard about it, I thought, ‘Who? Me?’ I was touched to hear that I am making an impact in our community and am grateful to be a part of it. I hope to pay it forward to other newer members of our industry and show them all the amazing learning and career opportunities that the mortgage industry has to offer.”

While Amanda might’ve been surprised by the news, we know we weren’t! To be a rising star, you must be at the forefront of building the great businesses and industries of tomorrow – an aspect that fits Amanda to a tee.

While Amanda’s official title for Atlantic Bay is Director of Investor Relations, she wears many hats – both internal and external-facing – on behalf of the company. Not only is Amanda an Accredited Mortgage Professional (AMP), but she’s also an active Regional and National Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA) Member.

She is currently pursuing her Certified Residential Underwriter (CRU) designation and remains devoted to personal and professional education and growth. A critical part of many cooperatives, Amanda’s drive and attention to detail assist in developing strong bonds with external constituents and coworkers alike; she plays a vital role in maintaining relationships with Atlantic Bay’s key investors. She coordinates agency and investor relationships and works closely with credit risk and policy to ensure that Atlantic Bay has the means to offer industry-leading products and programs to our borrowers.

“I describe my position as ‘product development and credit policy.’ I develop a competitive and innovative product offering with strategic investor partners while balancing this offering with our risk appetite. In this, my team is pushing forward affordable lending options today while planning for what borrowers will need tomorrow.”

Her positivity and energy are something team members and external partners can’t help but gravitate towards.

In her time with Atlantic Bay, she has onboarded approximately a dozen investors and rolled out a variety of products – including, but not limited to – jumbo and condo loans, adjustable-rate mortgages (ARMs), and down payment assistance programs. Her role brings immense value to Atlantic Bay and the mortgage industry at large.

Never afraid of a challenge, Amanda leaps into every new project or campaign with a “how can I help” attitude. A big part of that inspiring confidence comes from – according to Amanda – knowing her own strengths.

“The best piece of advice I ever received was, ‘Know what you are and know what you’re not.’ Having the self-awareness to play to your strengths and leverage your areas of opportunity is imperative to achieving your goals. Knowing my strengths and utilizing them to their maximum capacity allows me to learn and grow in ways I never thought possible at my age. Plus, self-doubt has no place here!”
