Driving growth in sales as Chief Lending Officer, Emily Farley, does it with compassion, wisdom, and genuine care. Atlantic Bay is proud to announce that Emily has been named a to the prestigious 2022 HousingWire Women of Influence list.

HousingWire is the most influential source of news and information for the U.S. mortgage and housing markets. The Women of Influence award recognizes not only professional achievements within their organizations, but contributions to the overall industry, community outreach, client impact, and personal success.

If you know Emily, then you know she is a powerhouse mortgage leader dedicated to seeing other people, especially women, achieve a work-life integration that allows them to succeed in all areas of life. With a 75% female company in a heavily based male industry, Emily is always thinking of ways to make Atlantic Bay and the housing industry more inclusive. She has advocated for and implemented policies within Atlantic Bay, such as a salaried-style program for sales team members called the Progressive Earnings Plan (PEP). This long-term financial planning tool is just one of the innovative programs Emily has overseen in her tenure with Atlantic Bay, creating a Culture of Support for her team.

With two decades of experience in the mortgage industry, Emily has established herself as a leader among her peers. Her knowledge and expertise have landed her in major leadership roles such as a past President of the Virginia Mortgage Bankers Association, multiple roles including Treasurer and President of the Tidewater Mortgage Lenders Association, Membership Chair of the Tidewater Builders Association, a past board member for Volunteer Hampton Roads, Board Member for Roc Solid Foundation, amongst various other industry acknowledgments. Emily often shares her insight and expertise with industry peers and recently spoke on a panel at the RESPRO conference about digital marketing and the finance industry.

“To be among such a robust list of women has been a great honor of mine,” Emily says. “When we collectively put forth the effort for positive change in the industry, that’s where we show our true commitment to our mortgage bankers, real estate agents, and homebuyers. I am thrilled to be an advocate for Atlantic Bay and the mortgage lending industry.”

Emily leads with pure empathy – and wants to make a difference for homeowners while changing the world around her. She has created her place at the table regarding Atlantic Bay’s future and contributed to policies and regulations within the mortgage industry. A passionate leader who wants to give everyone around her the tools they need to succeed, Emily is constantly giving and lending herself to anyone who can tap into her wealth of knowledge. Whether she’s mentoring mortgage bankers on growing their business, finding work-life balance, or just being a confidant in a bustling field, Emily is always willing to do whatever it takes to uplift those around her.

“To all women seeking a life-giving role in leadership, my advice to you is to never back down from a challenge,” Emily says. “Always keep your desire to learn from peers above and below you so you can continue to grow. Know who is supporting you and build your bench of mentors who can give you sound guidance. And lastly, find a company, and role, that aligns with your core values. I am so thankful to have all of this and more with my team at Atlantic Bay.”
