When he’s not outside doing anything and everything, you can find him with his family watching sports – you name the sport and he’s up to speed on the stats.

Bill Hitchcock, our Senior Vice President of Business Development has a passion for the mortgage industry that, like football, runs deep.

After working in the banking industry for some time, he landed his role at Atlantic Bay four years ago. From cutting his teeth in the trenches as a loan officer and dealing with second mortgages to working his way up the chain into multiple leadership positions.

"I have been fortunate to gain a lot of experience in working in the mortgage and banking industry. I’ve been lucky to be in the right place at the right time and I’ve worked for some very good companies. But the thing I like most about Atlantic Bay is that every day honestly, I can be as good as the effort I’m willing to put in," he says. "The leadership team and the people I work with all look to remove any hurdles that might get in the way of me doing that. Our leadership is all very open and engaging with a customer first mentality. So, it’s easy to get support from them."

Don’t let his calm demeanor fool you, he’s learned throughout the years how to maintain a level head in all aspects of his life through the opportunities that he’s learned from. His ability to see five steps beyond the task at hand helps him anticipate what’s to come and maintain a positive attitude.

Those are the skills he attributes to getting where he is today. Well, that and continuously receiving sound advice from his measuring stick and inspiration, his father.

When we asked Bill about his role it came as no surprise that there is a fire inside of him to establish strong relationships to further the company.

“We get to look at business development different from other companies, we are a liaison and concierge for our mortgage bankers. Our job is to help them grow their business and in turn, grow the company. We find different opportunities for new relationships with real estate agents and companies so that we can team up and grow our business, together.”

“I love our team, if someone introduces me as their boss I always correct them and say that we all work together we just have a different roles.”

And that’s what Bill is all about, building a team of people willing to go above and beyond for one another while creating meaningful relationships.
